Mike has proven himself to be a very capable trainer and field trial handler. It is apparent that with a smaller string than many pros, he still consistantly has dogs in the third series in Springer trials, and very often places with those dogs. I think that speaks volumes. His training methods do not necessarily embrace the latest fads, but instead rely on consistancy, repetition, and developing a rapport with the dog. Each dog in his kennel gets a lot of individual attention. By avoiding shortcuts, the finished product is a dog that should not need constant return trips for re-education. He really brings out in the dog what it was bred to do: seek game in partnership with the hunter.
